Your fifth grader is going through an exciting transition from kid to student. From 5th to 6th grade! They are moving from Granger Kids to Granger Students. In this season of big changes, we want to come alongside you to help you and your student navigate their next steps.
Attend a Granger Students Gathering | May 5, 12, 19 | Granger Campus, Auditorium
Your 5th grader is invited to attend the Granger Students Middle School Gathering for three Sundays in May. Join us from 3:30-5:30 p.m. to see what the experience is all about and meet some amazing leaders who can’t wait to welcome your student. Hang out time is 3:30-4 p.m. with doors opening for the service at 4 p.m. The Director of Granger Kids, Jen Harrell, along with other Granger Kids staff and volunteers will be there too! There will be a brief parent meeting at the fireplace while the students are still engaged (5-5:30 p.m.) on May 5 and 12 to answer any of your questions and give you a sneak peek of the summer and fall.
Attend a Granger Students Gathering | May 8, 15, 22 | Elkhart Campus
Your 5th grader is invited to attend the Granger Students Middle School Wednesday Program for three Wednesdays in May. Join us Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to see what the experience is all about and meet some amazing leaders who can’t wait to welcome your student. Hang out time is 6:30-7 p.m. with the gathering starting at 7 p.m. The Director of Granger Kids for the Elkhart Campus, Shari Wolfgang, along with other Granger Kids volunteers will be there too! There will be a brief parent meeting while the students are still engaged (8-8:30 p.m.) on May 8 to answer any of your questions and give you a sneak peek of the summer and fall.
Attend Encounter Night | Come enjoy a night of worship, fun and games as we celebrate the last Granger Students gathering for this school year on Wednesday, May 22. Students from both campuses (including graduating 5th graders!) are invited to come to the Elkhart Campus for this special evening of worship together.
Launch Classes | May-July | Online & In person
Starting the weekend of May 4-5, Launch kicks off with classes for 5th grade students. Leaders from the Granger Kids and Granger Students teams will walk students through the Story of God curriculum and help them stay connected with God during the summer months. This is an excellent opportunity to help them truly own their faith as they are moving into the middle school stage of life. Weekly videos and story guides are also available on our Launch Classes Resources page. At the end of those 12 weeks, we’ll have the opportunity to serve together in the Launch Mission Experience (July 25-27). These classes will be offered in the following formats:
- Granger Campus. Meet during regular service times. (Room locations may vary each week.) Saturdays 5 p.m.; Sundays 9:30 & 11:30 a.m.
- Elkhart Campus. Meet in the Pre-Teen room during the Sunday 11:30 a.m. service.
- Online. Videos of the weekly stories, as well as the accompanying discussion questions, will be available for parents and students on the Launch Classes Resources page.
Middle School Camp | June 10-15 | SpringHill, Evart, MI
Middle School Camp is one of the biggest events for middle schoolers and you will definitely want your incoming 6th grader there. It’s a great way to connect with friends on the same path and learn more about the amazing adventure of following Jesus! Get the details and register.
Launch Mission Experience | July 25-27, Granger Campus
This local mission experience is for all 5th graders from Granger Community Church, even if they have not been a part of Granger Kids, as well as any 5th grade friends they want to invite. This milestone event will help 5th graders transition into adolescence with a supporting community of peers and leaders around them.
Granger Students Vision Night | Sunday, August 25, 6:30–8 p.m., Granger Campus
This will be a special night to gather middle schoolers, high schoolers, leaders and parents from both of our campuses to hear what is to come, have some fun reuniting after a busy summer and get fired up for all that God could do this year. Granger Students Gatherings officially start up for the Granger Campus on Sunday, September 8, and the Elkhart Campus on Wednesday, September 11.
