Greg Martin

How did you first come to GCC? Why did you stay?
I was asked by a good friend to come. What caused me to stay here was the care and love that was shown to me and my wife.

What book has changed you the most?
I read the book The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer shortly after becoming a Christ-follower years ago. In the book, he compares what he calls “cheap grace” to “costly grace.” He states, “‘Costly grace’ is the gospel which must be sought again and again.” That statement, combined with him walking through the demands of sacrifice, was such a life-changer for me.

What is your biggest challenge?
To be still and know that He is God. I cannot stand to be still. For me, it is better to meditate for small periods of time, many times a day. It is just the way I am wired.

What is your role at GCC?
