Important Info About Your Audition

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Granger Community Church worship team. Our musicians and vocalists serve various ministries of our church, from weekends to special events, camps, prison ministry, and more.

Below you will find the details on how to submit a video audition along with important general details about serving on the team.

The Vision of GCC Worship

“Everyone we lead would worship in spirit and truth.”

In John 4:23-24 Jesus says, “But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

The Mission of GCC Worship

“Engage with Jesus. Engage your gifts.”

We believe that anyone can engage with Jesus no matter where they are on their journey. Whether it’s praying for the first time or the 10,000th time, Jesus will meet people right where they are.

We believe that we are all given gifts to serve the Body of Christ. We take that seriously and we do our very best to bring our best with every opportunity we have to serve each other and our community.

In short, we will do our best to provide opportunities for people to have an encounter with Jesus and we will do our best to utilize our gifts to their fullest potential as individuals and as a team.

The Audition Process for GCC Worship

These resources are intended to give you an idea of how to prepare for GCC worship services and events. This is a good indication of communication within our campus worship teams. The process of listening to content and preparing at home is very similar to preparing for our services. All of our campuses utilize in-ear monitoring. Click-track competency is essential for each musician and vocalist. Furthermore, you can expect to receive real-time feedback on areas you are doing well in and areas you could use improvement. It is important that we are all open to honest, but caring and honoring feedback in a group setting.

Step 1 – VIDEO AUDITION

Step 2 – IN-PERSON AUDITIONS

In-Person auditions will be held at the Granger Campus. Please park near the main entrance of the building and go inside Entrance 2.

What to bring:
Drummers and keyboardists will use the Granger Community Church Church stage drums and keyboard. All guitarists and bassists will need to bring their corresponding instruments. In addition, you will need to bring a pair of in-ear monitors or headphones to use during your audition.

What to expect:
Each audition will last around 30 minutes. Upon entering, you will spend some time with the worship staff just to connect and get to know each other a bit. Drummers, we will show you how to connect to our in-ear monitor system and allow you to test click track and loop levels before your audition begins. All other instruments and vocalists will hold their audition in the downstairs green room area. No In-Ear Monitors are needed for this portion of the audition. After this initial set-up, you will then be asked to play your corresponding audition repertoire along with the click and practice track. (Please note that we will record your audition for reviewing purposes in the coming days.) After your audition is over, we will give any relevant feedback and one of our staff members will escort you out.

Auditions will be either video or audio recorded.
